Let’s Get Toasted: Toasty San Francisco

July 31, 2018
What would you do for good food? Stand in excessively long lines (ahem, Madrid and Street XO)? Wake up at all hours of the night to secure reservations (how else can I secure some of the most coveted reservations) Fly thousands of miles in search of the prettiest bite?
If you’ve been following me for any length of time, you know that I will not let any obstacle get in my way of an epic meal and in fact, I’m guilty of all three. A couple of weeks ago, I flew to San Francisco to visit my very best friend. This girl has been my ride or die and partner in dine since college. So, it goes without saying that every time I visit, I send her a list of potential eateries that I’d like to check out. Knowing that we won’t knock out a fraction of them, I note which ones are an absolute must. On this last trip, there were only three places that were non-negotiable, Toasty, being one of them.

Green, creamy, tasty: It’s an avocado-a-ganza

April 8, 2018
Laurel Davis’ brother was flying across the country to visit her in San Francisco, so she made a list of 15 possible activities. They could go to the beach, or watch the Giants play the Dodgers, or drive to Alameda to visit the Pacific Pinball Museum. Rick Davis — and his kids, Will, 11, and Abby, 7, — just had to pick. But what caught their eye was something that pretty much screams California: Avocado Con. Even in New Jersey, avocados have a cult following.

Avocado Toasting with Toasty SF

June 12, 2018
I tried a few different types of avocado toast for breakfast that paired nicely with my turmeric latte.  I’ve been following ##ToastySF on Instagram and I was very excited to finally try their avocado toast (#avotoast)!  They have 12 different varieties, the most popular item is the egg and avocado toast combination.  They are also now open at 7am! I loved hearing about the inspiration behind Toasty SF.   I especially loved hearing Sofia’s story!  Sofia moved to San Francisco without any concrete plans.

‘TOASTY’ BRINGS AVOCADO TOAST, AÇAI BOWLS TO COW HOLLOW

October 16, 2017
A new cafe has opened its doors in the neighborhood. The fresh addition to Cow Hollow, called Toasty, is located at 2760 Octavia St. (between Union St & Green St), in the space formerly occupied by Back Yard Kitchen.
The new spot, which opened earlier this month, takes its cues from the ongoing fancy toast trend, with Instagram-worthy presentations of such dishes as its “Brekkie Toasty” (with Nutella or peanut butter, banana, strawberries & coconut flakes), “Salmon Toasty” (avocado, salmon, cucumbers, onion, capers and lemon), “Eggy Toasty” (avocado, two poached eggs, rainbow mix, ground pepper & paprika) and more.
